School's Out Camps
No school? No problem! Send the kids to Sunbury Urban Farm for a fun-filled day of exploration and play-based learning! Each School’s Out Camp day includes outdoor games, a nature or garden activity, art or science project, forest freeplay, and a hands-on snacktivity. Every day has a unique set of activities based on the season, forecasted weather, and input from the kids. Programs happen rain or shine (and in the snow too)!
Age: 5-13 | Cost: $50 per child ($25 non-refundable deposit due at registration)
Drop off: 8:30-9a.m. | Pick Up: 3:15-3:45 | Aftercare: 3:45-5:30 ($15 extra)
Oct. 16/20 - Taking Aim!
Join us for a fun-filled fall day of target sports, science, and nature exploration! Learn about leaves and what makes them change colors with an interactive science experiment. Take aim and sharpen your archery/ slingshot skills by shooting at paper targets, apples, and pumpkins! Enjoy a game of cornhole, a fall-favorite outdoor game and design your own cornhole-ready beanbag to take home. End the day with a campfire snack and free choice play in the farm's one-of-a-kind natural playground!
Nov. 20/21/22 - Harvesting Gratitude
While harvest time at the farm is slowing down, there are still plenty of opportunities to harvest gratitude! Join us over fall break to (re)discover all the things in nature of which to be grateful. Incorporating Indigenous Stories, natural art, and the outdoor space here at the farm, there will be no shortage of inspiring things to do and see.
Dec. 28/29 - Holiday Magic
Finish off your winter break at Sunbury Urban Farm by baking cookies, playing outside, and creating your very own sense of holiday magic! Gear up for some outdoor winter fun before cozying up with a warm drink and listening to holiday stories from around the world.
Jan. 15 - Winter Survival Skills
Build a fire, find safe shelter, keep yourself warm, and roast some marshmallows! Try your hand at all of these things and more during Sunbury Urban Farm’s ‘Winter Survival’ School’s Out Camp.
Feb. 19 - Winter Wildlife
Have you ever wondered why some wildlife leave for the winter while others choose to stay? Find the answer to this question and more! Play wildlife themed games, look for signs of animal life on the farm, and become an expert on animal scat! It’s sure to be a wild time!
Mar. 21/22, Mar. 28/29, Apr. 1/2/3/4/5 Spring Break Camps - Camp Cryptid
Join us over your spring break, as we bring together the seen and unseen, real and imaginary, and the magical and mundane! Participate in cryptid themed games, explore the wild habitats at the farm, and learn about some out of this world cryptids! Discuss topics such as keeping the wild wild, protecting pollinators, and the importance of imagination as we welcome spring in at the farm. Cryptid hunters will do different activities each day that they participate!
